Argentina's Genneia kicks off 180MW solar project in Mendoza, with $160 million investment via MATER directly supplying industrial users, targeting 1.7GW renewable energy.
Genneia announced the commercial operation of the Anchoris Solar Park(Parque Solar Anchoris) in Luján de Cuyo, Mendoza Province, Argentina. With an investment of $160M and an installed capacity of 180MW, the project supplies large industrial users through the MATER (Mercado a Término de Energías Renovables) integrated system. This initiative marks a key step in the company’s renewable energy expansion, consolidating its leadership in the Argentine market.
The park utilizes 360,000 bifacial panels, generating approximately 497,000 MWh annually—equivalent to the consumption of 125,000 households—while avoiding over 220,000 tons of CO₂ emissions per year. Additionally, the construction phase created more than 350 jobs, reinforcing positive impacts on local communities and supporting the economic sustainability of the energy transition.
Genneia CEO Bernardo Andrews emphasized: "This project reflects our commitment to diversifying the energy mix, innovation, and sustainable development." Currently, the company holds 490MW of solar capacity in the Cuyo region and aims to reach 800MW solar by 2026 through the San Rafael (180MW) and San Juan Sur (130MW) projects. Its 2022–2026 investment plan totals nearly $900M, with renewable capacity expected to exceed 1.7GW next year. This consolidates its industry leadership, with a current total capacity of 1,256MW comprising 945MW wind and 490MW solar.
