On August 6, 2025, NTPC Green Energy Ltd. (NGEL) announced the successful commencement of commercial operation for 75 MW capacity in its IRCON Renewable Power Ltd. (IRPL) joint venture solar project. This brings the total operational capacity of the joint venture to 300 MW, which is part of the planned total installed capacity of 500 MW.
The project is implemented by the IRPL joint venture company. IRPL was established by Ayana Renewable Power Pvt. Ltd. and ONGC NTPC Green Pvt. Ltd., focusing on solar development. Ayana is a wholly-owned subsidiary of ONGC NTPC Green, while ONGC NTPC Green itself is a joint venture formed by energy giants Oil and Natural Gas Corporation (ONGC) and NTPC Limited, reflecting an industrial collaboration model.
According to a regulatory filing submitted to the National Stock Exchange (NSE) and the Bombay Stock Exchange (BSE) on August 4, 2025, the commercial operation of the additional capacity has officially commenced.
