Sofar Solar Showcases Residential Energy Storage and Solar PV Solutions in Australia at AEA 2024

On October 23, 2024, the All-Energy Australia exhibition, the largest and most anticipated clean energy event in the country, opened at the Melbourne Convention and Exhibition Centre. The two-day event, a gathering of renewable energy experts and participants from across the globe, showcased the latest developments in clean energy and explored the future of the industry.

At booth JJ113, SOFAR Solar made a prominent appearance, displaying cutting-edge solar and energy storage solutions, engaging with global participants, and contributing to discussions on the direction of the renewable energy sector.

The Growth of Australia’s PV and Energy Storage Market

Australia is endowed with abundant solar resources. In recent years, driven by technological advancements, cost reductions, and government support through carbon taxes and incentive policies, the country’s PV market has seen significant growth. According to reports, Australia added 4.6 GW of new solar installations, with distributed PV accounting for 68% of the total. In 2023, Australia also set a record by installing 57,000 residential battery energy storage systems, reaching a total capacity of 656 MWh. The rapid expansion of the solar and energy storage market is setting the stage for further growth in Australia.

Empowering Success: Industry Recognition for SOFAR Solar

Thanks to years of dedication to the solar and energy storage markets and its advanced technologies, SOFAR Solar’s products and services have earned global praise and recognition. At this exhibition, SOFAR Solar was honored with the prestigious 2024 “Top PV Inverter Brand” award for Australia by EUPD Research, underscoring both its reputation and its industry leadership.

Since its establishment in 2013, SOFAR Solar has focused on building competitive advantages across product development, technology, market reach, and service delivery. With three R&D centers worldwide and two major manufacturing bases, the company continues to strengthen its capacity for independent innovation. SOFAR’s core product range includes 1-350 kW solar inverters, 3-20 kW storage inverters, energy storage batteries, and the SOFAR Cloud monitoring platform. By the end of 2023, SOFAR had shipped 31 GW of inverters globally, with products distributed across more than 100 countries and regions. Beyond Australia, SOFAR has also established localized service platforms in over 20 countries, including the UK, Germany, and South Korea, to support the transition to green and low-carbon energy.

Deepening Localized Service in Australia

Australia has been a key focus in SOFAR Solar’s global service strategy, and since 2016, the company has built a robust localized market service platform in the country. By hiring local employees with extensive industry experience and gaining a deep understanding of the specific needs of Australian customers and markets, SOFAR has developed a professional team covering both upstream and downstream services. Tailoring its solutions to local regulatory and policy conditions, SOFAR provides diversified, personalized, and localized PV and energy storage solutions. With a local warehouse in Melbourne and an office service center in Sydney, SOFAR aims to reduce energy costs for enterprises, integrate renewable energy more effectively, and create a more efficient and comprehensive marketing and supply chain system.

Leading the Way in Integrated Residential Energy Storage Design

As of 2023, data from professional sources show that the top five residential energy storage markets in the world are Germany, Italy, Japan, the United States, and Australia, with one-third of Australian households using rooftop solar. The prevailing design for residential energy storage systems in Australia separates the inverter and storage battery units. In response to this, SOFAR introduced its PowerAll integrated residential PV and energy storage system, which was a highlight at the exhibition. The new single-phase PowerAll and the newly launched three-phase PowerAll for 2024 were presented at the booth, with staff offering comprehensive consultations to local customers.

As the “pioneer” of SOFAR’s energy storage family, PowerAll has made its mark in countries including Australia and across Europe. Featuring a modular design, the system meets a variety of household energy needs, allowing customers to select and expand battery modules, customize storage capacity, and adjust the size of the system flexibly. With high energy density batteries, advanced battery management technology, and an intelligent system, PowerAll minimizes energy loss while enabling users to manage their green energy systems efficiently.

Expanding Australia’s Green Energy Potential

As a developed country blessed with abundant sunshine, Australia’s PV and energy storage market is experiencing a tremendous surge. SOFAR Solar is committed to further deepening its presence in the Australian market, continuing to invest in human, financial, and material resources to provide high-quality products and services. Through these efforts, SOFAR aims to support Australia’s carbon reduction, pollution control, and green energy transition, injecting more “green energy” into the country’s low-emission transformation.
