On July 26, GEA TRANSMISORA SpA, a subsidiary of Transelec S.A., signed a supply and service agreement for an energy storage system with CL Energy Storage Corporation, a subsidiary of CLOU Electronics (科陆). According to the agreement, CLOU will provide GEA TRANSMISORA SpA with a complete energy storage system with a power/capacity of 105MW/420MWh, scheduled for delivery in 2025.
As Chile's leading high-voltage transmission system service provider, Transelec S.A. boasts over 80 years of experience in the energy and power industry. This project marks Transelec S.A.'s first battery energy storage project, carrying significant importance for Chile's domestic energy transition. Previously, the Chilean government set a target for 2030, aiming for 70% of the country's total energy consumption to come from renewable sources. Against this backdrop, Chile has seen a significant increase in renewable energy capacity in recent years, making energy storage an urgent need to ensure the flexibility and stability of the power system.
The signing of this project also signals the full implementation of CLOU's Energy Storage EP Package full lifecycle station services in the overseas market.
